Get Ready for the 2008 "U Don't Need It?" Student Move Out!!

May 22nd - June 5th
10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Surplus Sale on Saturday June 7th

This year's event will again be held at the former Curtis Paper Mill site on Paper Mill Rd.
Please bring all of your used or unwanted furniture, household goods, clothing, and non-perishable food to donate to people in need.

  • Details - Each year around 150 tons of “waste” is collected through this program at a tremendous cost to the City of Newark and our local environment. Again this year, the former Curtis Paper Mill site will be staffed in order to prevent illegal dumping and so that all goods collected and deemed in fair enough condition will be donated through various avenues to those that need them most. The remaining material will be sorted to remove anything that can be recycled. As in previous years, there will be a couple other dumpsters located around the city. However, we are requesting that if you are able, to bring your materials to the Paper Mill location.
  • Volunteer - Show your support and volunteer to help this operation run smoothly! Please fill out this form with your hours of availability.
  • Directions - From Main St. - Make a right onto N. College Ave and continue straight through the Cleveland Ave. intersection to Paper Mill Rd. Go straight for 500 ft. and the Curtis Mill will be located directly on the left hand side of the road, across from Timothy’s.
This project was made possible through the cooperation of: Town and Gown , University of Delaware, City of Newark, Green Delaware Recycling , Food Bank of Delaware , Planet Aid, Ministry of Caring, Americorps and DSWA
